FAQ
STAINLESS STEEL - What kind of stainless steel do you use?
Our sinks are made with 304 grade, 16 gauge stainless steel and every sink is carefully hand-welded (by a real person!). The 304 steel is 18/8, meaning it contains at least 8% nickel. Most stainless steel sinks are stamped or drawn, meaning the 16 gauge stainless steel is stretched when the mold is pressed into it. They are referred to as 16 gauge even though they end up being much thinner. Our sinks are not stretched. We start with a flat piece of 16 gauge stainless steel, cut it like a dress pattern, and bend the sides up. Since our steel is never stretched it is much heavier than 16-gauge drawn sinks. Our stainless steel is lead-free, our sinks are cUPC certified, and meet the guidelines for Massachusetts plumbing code. This means they meet all plumbing codes for residential kitchen sinks in the USA and Canada.

We ship next business day via FedEx ground. FedEx delivers within 1 to 5 days depending on distance from Cincinnati, Ohio.

CABINET SIZE - What size sink will fit my cabinet?
Undermount kitchen sinks are attached to the underside of your counter-tops, they do not rest on the walls of your cabinets.
You will want at least 1/4" clearance between the lip of the sink and the walls of the cabinet. If the clearance is too tight or non-existent, the lip of sink extends over walls of cabinet. If it the clearance is a perfect fit, it has space between the sink and the cabinet. You will want to make sure the sink lip does not extend over the walls of the cabinet.
Standard base cabinets come in 3" increments and they are referenced by their outside dimensions. For example, a 36" base cabinet has an inside measurement of 34.5”. The inside measurement is what will determine what size sink you can have.
If the sink ever needs to be removed, it will be nearly impossible to get it out from under the weight of the counters. When the sink is too large for the base cabinet, the lip can get pinched between the counter top and the cabinet walls.
We made the guesswork easy for you and sized our sinks in correlation with standard cabinet sizes. The rule of thumb is to go for a sink size a few inches below your cabinet size.
For example: A 36” Base Cabinet is perfect for our 33” Sinks.

SINK COUNTERTOP CUTOUT - What installation method should I choose for my countertop?
Flush
This installation method creates an even, flush placement of the opening of the sink and the countertop opening.
Overhang
This installation leaves an extra amount of countertop hanging over the opening of your kitchen sink, concealing the coupling of the sink to the countertop.
Reveal (for double ledge installation)
CORNER RADIUS - Why should I choose a ½” radius sink over a zero radius sink?
1/2” Radius corners are easier to clean and expand the size of the sink basin. Smaller corners mean more usable workspace in the sink basin. Many kitchen sink companies have adopted a modern, zero-radius design. The sharp, 90-degree corner is appealing for contemporary kitchens and easy to manufacture, however, the tight corners are difficult to clean. On the opposite end of the spectrum, many stamped sinks feature dated, overly-rounded corners with slanted sides, which drastically reduce usable space in the sink basin. DOUBLE LEDGE - Do you have any sinks with a double ledge?
All of our workstation sinks are designed with a slightly larger lip to give you the option of having a second ledge.
If you prefer a dual ledge, the countertop fabricator will leave a portion of that lip exposed creating an upper tier. The exposed lip is 1/2" on the front and back and 1/4" on the left and right sides.
More info on the double ledge can be found here.

SINK CARE - How should I clean my sink and accessories?
To maintain your sink and stainless steel accessories, we recommend a thorough cleaning once per week using stainless steel cleaner (we love Barkeepers Friend!) and a non-abrasive cloth or sponge. Please avoid harsh cleaners, pads, and bleach as these can cause damage to the steel.
Over time, scratches in the stainless steel will blend into a textured patina. We have embraced this natural process by finishing all of our sinks in a #4 brush finish to help disguise smaller scratches in the meantime. Using our grids in the basin of your sink will also greatly reduce the chance of deeper scratches.
Our bamboo cutting boards work best when treated bi-weekly with mineral oil and a scrubbing pad. This will “season” the cutting boards overtime to reduce cut marks and help with the richness of the materials.
Our white plastic and black cutting boards are both dishwasher-safe.
MANUFACTURED WHERE - Where are your sinks made?
Our sinks are made with non-recycled stainless steel from Korea. The manufacturing process for our sinks is labor-intensive with both the seamless drain and half-inch radius corners as standard features. In order to keep prices competitive, we partnered with a factory near Hong Kong, China, who we have maintained a great working relationship with over the years. The sinks are carefully hand-welded, securely packaged, and shipped to our warehouse in Cincinnati, Ohio, where every sink completes a thorough inspection process before they ship to you.
INSTALL TIPS - Do you have any tips for an easy install?
1. Please inspect your sink when you receive it for any damages. It gives us time to send a replacement.
2. Disposal - We recommend the In-Sink-Erator Evolution Models (¾ HP or 1 HP). The Evolution models are powerful and quiet and great quality. Other brands will work but may need an adaptor. See our install page for more info.
3. We ship the drain kits with the sink. Make sure you have one for each sink bowl a few days before the plumber arrives. If the kits are missing, let us know so we can get a new set to you.
4. For a smooth install, have your plumber review our installation page or make sure they read the instructions in the drain kit box. Have them call us if they have any questions or concerns at 513-327-8078
FAUCETS - How do I choose the right faucet?
How do I choose the right faucet?
We suggest that you first consider your relative kitchen design elements:
- Is the sink being installed in an island, corner, against a window or backsplash?
- A window, backsplash or corner installation may call for a faucet that is short, so as to not distract from other design elements.
- An island may allow for more liberties in choosing a taller faucet.
- Are there cabinets above the sink? If so, a shorter faucet may be a better decision.
- What size is your sink? Smaller prep sinks may look awkward with a taller faucet. A shorter faucet may be a better fit for a smaller sink.
- How many basins does your sink have? Single basin sinks may be better paired with a singular faucet, unless the sink is 39” or larger. Double basin sinks may look more design savvy with two faucets and could allow for multiple users to be at the sink at one time.
FAUCETS - Materials, parts, technical FAQ
What materials are Create Good Sinks’ faucets made out of?
Our faucets are constructed of 304 stainless steel with a brushed finish and ceramic cartridges. They make for an identical match to that of our sinks.
Does Create Good Sinks carry replacement parts for faucets?
Yes, we have replacement parts for all of our faucet models, should anything ever need to be replaced.
How far back should I cut my faucet holes?
This depends on the stem-to-head distance of your faucet. If your faucet has good reach, say 9" or more, you can be more flexible on how far back the faucet placement is. For a shorter reaching faucet, you will want to try to push it up as close to the sink as your countertop professionals will allow.
FAUCETS - Dual faucets
When should I install two kitchen faucets?
- Do you plan on using the sink solo or with multiple users? If your kitchen has a lot of flying elbows, you will want to make sure you have room for two people to work at the sink.
- Is your sink single or double bowl? Larger double-bowl sinks will be more efficient with dual faucets.
- We normally see people opt for double faucets with sinks measuring 39 inches and above
